How it all started…

The Bike Shack was  re-established in 2014, as a welcoming, professional local bike shop. Now run by two local young cycling obsessives, helped out by friendly shop staff and mechanics who sought to provide their local community with tried and tested, reliable, value for money products.

Having worked together since teenagers the team aim to give everybody an approachable bike shop experience, combined with impartial knowledge, expertise and all served up for a fair price!  

From the start we have worked to dispel the stereotype that bike shops can be intimidating, condescending and overwhelmingly technical. We believe a bicycle shop should be a place where all are welcome. Our team takes every customers wants, needs and budgets into account to try and give the best service possible. Ultimately, we want to find the right ride for you.

As the business has grown the local community have been welcoming in the addition of a second shop, sponsorships and charity events and the pioneering of African education based charity funding. Working with a local international courier service it was felt donated funds were better spent this way.

Our large workshop is well equipped to repair any sort of bicycle, however peculiar it may be! In the past we have also repaired wheelchairs, tandems, pedal-karts, recumbents and disability adjusted bicycles, we'll try our hand at anything pedal powered!

We offer basic, standard and premium servicing along with a full range of repairs at competitive rates, alongside more advanced services such as brake bleeding, wheel building, frame repair, di2 troubleshooting and custom bike builds. We aim to get you quickly and safely back on the road, because we want you to enjoy riding as much as we do!
